How To Make Your WHAT IS "METABOLISM" AND HOW CAN YOU MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU?

What is "metabolism" and how can you make it work for you?

You hear it everywhere, "...metabolism," but have you ever seen this fitness catchword in detail? Today, it's so commonly used that we tend to forget the basics, resulting in missing a few gems of information here and there.

1. What it is

2. How to work with it and most importantly

3. How it will benefit us

what is that

Metabolism at its most basic level is the process your body uses to burn energy from the food you provide. It can also describe the rate or speed at which your body carries out this process. Many different things are metabolized in the food we consume but for this article we will mainly focus on food energy or self calories.

How can I work with it?

Since we now know what it is and how it basically works, it's obvious that we want to find ways to speed it up naturally. This can be done in various ways. Some are good and some are not so good. Let's start with the good one:

-Increasing lean muscle mass-

This is the first and perhaps the most obvious way to create a more creative metabolism. It's natural that the more muscle we have, the more calories we burn... even at rest! Muscle takes energy to work it but fat doesn't, it just sits there. Try moderate resistance training to start.

- Engage in aerobic exercise-

Aerobics are great! This will ensure that your body fat will decrease while at the same time your lean muscles will increase. Even after you finish exercising, your metabolism will stay high for a while, and work more efficiently. Then you'll burn more calories, no matter what you're doing... working, driving, even watching television!

-Take care of food-

Yes, that's right, eat! Also, be sure to avoid snacking when you're starving yourself. Restricting your calories too much will result in loss of lean muscle tissue, which will slow your metabolism. And we don't want that! Also make sure to spread your meals evenly throughout the day.  Try at least four. That way, your body won't think it's starving itself and won't be as likely to store food as fat. This usually happens when you eat only two or three meals a day.

-Negatives-

Although these things work, they are not seen as favorable as mentioned above due to some side effects. These are things like smoking. While they work to some extent, they offer more negatives than positives. If you want an extra 'push', I would consider taking some time to research food dosages. They can give you more edge and 95% of them are good for you.

How does it benefit me?

Well, in addition to burning more calories at rest, you'll look and feel much better. You will also be able to eat more and you will enjoy a more complete life. Also, people who exercise regularly are less likely to lose muscle mass as they age and won't need to worry as much about 'putting on the beef...' these techniques Try them, they may work for you!
